Hedgerow kitchen elderflower cordial

  • Taste Wexford County Wexford Ireland (map)

Join Lorraine from Gallivanting.ie for a fun afternoon making some treats that are healthy, natural, and utterly delicious. Throughout the year the hedgerows and woodlands of Ireland are full of delicious foods to harvest and use in a range of recipies, many going back thousands of years, others a little more contemperary. And this month it is Elderflower Cordial.

As the Wheel of the year turns each week offers new and delicious ingredients to harvest. Following on The Spring Workshop of Gorse Marmalade, we are now in full summer so learn how to make Elderflower Cordial.

Elderflower cordial is a fantastically versatile addition to your kitchen larder as it has plenty of uses asides from simply a drink. Try it drizzled over ice-cream or soft fruits, add to smoothies and yogurts, add to sparkling wine with a sprig of mint to make a wonderfully refreshing summer cocktail.
