Gorey Food & Folklore Tour

  • Gorey Gorey, WX Ireland (map)

Join Lorraine from Gallivanting.ie on a tour of Gorey and learn all about the history while tasting some of Wexfords local food. Take in a gentle stroll around the Main Street area stopping into a number of shops to meet and taste some of the finest artisan foods produced in North Wexford.

A number of the places that will be visited have been selling their wares for multiple generations while others are new to the town and are drawing in a new type of green consumer anxious to shop as ethically and locally as possible.

What’s included:

  • Try Jackford Gin at Brownes Pub - Gin made with Wexfords rooster potatoes and a chance to hear the tale of what the Hunter Gowan, that notorious 1798 villian, did in this very pub.

  • Try a little chocolate in the towns oldest grocery shop, three generations later and little has changed.

  • Grab some Wexford Roasters coffee and a little artisan granola at the Refilleree and see how this market town continues to evolve to the needs of todays shoppers.

  • Approximately 1.5 hours
